This internship offers hands-on experience in research, data analysis, programme monitoring, and strategic reporting within an international humanitarian organization.
Key Responsibilities
Interns will work under ECW’s M&E team to support:
1. Annual Results Report Development
- Collecting and analyzing programme data
- Conducting data quality checks
- Coding qualitative datasets
- Drafting analytical sections of ECW’s annual report
2. Knowledge Management & Learning
- Conducting literature reviews
- Mapping education in emergency programmes
- Supporting learning sessions, webinars, and cross-country exchanges
- Producing learning briefs and communication materials
3. Data Systems Strengthening
- Managing ECW databases and tracking tools
- Supporting the rollout of ECW’s new Information Management (IM) platform
- Improving data standards and documentation processes
4. Other M&E Support Tasks
- Supporting evaluations
- Conducting partner interviews
- Assisting with operational and research duties
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Have academic background in:
- Education
- Social sciences
- Humanitarian/development studies
- Monitoring & Evaluation
Have skills in data analysis using:
- Excel (required)
- R, STATA, PowerQuery, Kobo (added advantage)
- Be fluent in English
- French or Spanish is an added advantage
- Have strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Have no immediate relatives working with UNICEF or ECW
Internship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive:
- Stipend $1,700 USD/month (Geneva, New York, Copenhagen)
- 70% of GS-3 Step 1 salary in other duty stations
